ABOUT BILL STOREY
Bill Storey is a retired special educator, coach and (most importantly) the single father of three beautiful daughters. He enjoys following his daughters McKenna & Carlee high school softball and soccer games. He also enjoys his oldest daughter Hallie’s art career. Bill continues to enjoy surfing, and is a white-water kayaking guide during the summer. He is a people person who relishes his friendships with a wide variety of wonderful people.
Bill attended college at Azusa Pacific College (now University) on a football and baseball scholarship where he earned all-district honors in football. He earned a BA degree in Social Science in 1975. 1975 was the year he began teaching in alternative high schools. He switched to special education a few years later. In 1984 he received a Master’s Degree in Special Education from California State University Pomona.
Bill has loved working with the most difficult students in the California and Oregon public schools for 33 years. He developed and instituted the highly successful “Study Skills Program” in a number of high schools. Students from Bill’s special education classes typically boast a far better graduation rate than regular Oregon students! Bill has coached football, baseball, softball and soccer. While serving as Dean of Students at North Medford High School, he attended Lewis and Clark College and obtained an Educational Administrative Credential. As Dean, Bill was instrumental in instituting a zero tolerance policy on violence at North Medford High School.
He is a single father of three beautiful daughters. Hallie, 20, attends Rogue Community College as an art and business major. Carlee, 18, is a senior in high school and will be attending Samford University in Alabama on a soccer scholarship. McKenna, 16, is a 4.0 high school student who excels in soccer and softball. Bill considers being a father his greatest accomplishment and learning experience.
